Gangdong-gu Office (Mayor Lee Jung-hun) revealed that it has waived the commission fees for the ten most requested civil documents, including the Household Register Certificate, Resident Registration Abstract, and Family Relationship Certificate among the 111 civil documents that can be issued at automated civil document issuing machines starting on the 6th.

  This decision was made to increase convenience for citizens and provide quality public administration services to the citizens by encouraging citizens to use non-contact services such as automated civil document issuing machines in order to relieve the sense of anxiety caused by the continuation of the COVID-19 pandemic.

  The civil documents that are issued for free at automated civil document issuing machines located in Gangdong-gu are the Household Register Certificate, Resident Registration Abstract, and eight other civil documents such as the Family Relationship Certificate, Basic Certificate, Marriage Certificate, and Family Relations Register.

  Currently, there are 21 automated civil document issuing machines in Gangdong-gu. The machines operate around the block and are available at the Gangdong-gu Office, Gangdong Health Center, Gangdong Tax Office, seven local community centers (Gangil-dong, Sangil-dong, Gil-dong, Cheonho 3-dong, Amsa 1-dong, Godeok 1-dong, Dunchon 2-dong), and seven locations with a high floating population such as the Central Veterans Hospital, Kyung Hee University Hospital at Gangdong, Kangdong Sacred Heart Hospital, and subway stations.

  It is important to note that a Family Relations Register cannot be issued at automated civil document issuing machines located in subway stations for security reasons.

  Residents can conveniently have their civil documents issued at any automated civil document issuing machine using their fingerprints without having to present their ID cards. A total of 111 types of civil documents can be issued at the machines concerning resident registrars, family relations, automobiles, intellectual properties and construction, welfare, agriculture and fisheries, military affairs, education, health insurance certificates, and more.

  A representative from Gangdong-gu Office said, “We hope waiving the commission fees for the automated civil document issuing machines will provide a little help to our residents facing difficulties due to COVID-19. A total of eight new automated civil document issuing machines will be installed in Myeongil Station and local community centers by the end of this year.”

  Meanwhie, Gangdong-gu introduced credit card and mobile payment services to the automated civil document issuing machines last year to diversify the means of payment accepted at the machines, providing a customer-oriented administrative service.
