Sangil 2-dong Local Community Center in Gangdong-gu (mayor Lee Jung hun) will be separated from Gangil-dong, providing local administrative services in a new office building beginning July 1, Thursday at 9:00 a.m.

  In response to the anticipated increase in population density due to the mass move-in to Godeok Gangil District, Gangdong-gu District Office is separating the area north of Godeok-ro into Gangil-dong and the area south of the road into Sangil 2-dong to offer more efficient administrative and welfare services.

  The separation was also decided to unify the legal district status and administrative district status of Godeok Rien Park Zone 3 and Godeok Gangil Zone 1 and Zone 3 whose local residents had to go through much inconvenience as the administrative district and legal district of the areas did not coincide.

  The temporary office building of Sangil 2-dong Local Community Center (51, Sangil-ro 6-gil, Gangdong-gu, Seoul) is about 100m away from the front gate of Samsung Engineering. The local community service center will offer its services in the building until the construction of a new office building is completed.

  Meanwhile, it is important to note that registration-related work such as moving-in notification, registration of seal impression, registration of birth or death, etc. can only be processed in the local community center of the registered address.

  “We have decided on the separation as the population in Gangil-dong is expected to exceed the appropriate level soon. We hope to offer more efficient civil services to the local residents in Sangil 2-dong in the new center building,” said Lee Jung hun, chief of Gangdong-gu District Office.

  The district office will also continue to advertise the move by distributing notices, announcements, SNS posts, and banners.
