Gangdong-gu District Office (mayor Lee Jung hun) held a kick-off ceremony on June 11 for "Gangdong Landscape Nuridan," which was created to improve the local landscape through civic participation.

  The kick-off ceremony was attended by around 40 civic servants including Lee Jung hun, chief of Gangdong District Office, members of Landscape Nuridan, and related civic servants. The event consisted of awarding of the Landscape Nuridan Appointment Letter, election of the Steering Committee, and workshop detailing the role and activities of Landscape Nuridan.

  Landscape Nuridan is a group of local residents who conduct road checks every month to identify landscape-related issues in the local area and discuss ways to improve the identified issues, which are then reflected to related plans.

  Landscape Nuridan consists of 36 Gangdong residents who are interested in landscape and community improvement, and members were selected in April and May. It will conduct Stage 1 activities until May 2022, including establishment of strategic plans for space and environment in Gangdong-gu. Landscape Nuridan will work on Stage 2 activities until June 2023.

  The district office expects Landscape Nuridan to initiate various activities that are simple and fun, achieving improvements in the local landscape led by the local residents.

  “Gangdong Landscape Nuridan is a landscape improvement project that is run for and by local residents who identify landscape-related issues in the community and discuss ways to improve them together with the district office. We will work hard to create pleasant and attractive landscape scenery for pedestrians together with Landscape Nuridan,” said Lee Jung hun, chief of Gangdong District Office.
