Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jung-hun) introduced an easy credit card and mobile payment service for the automatic civil document issuance machines that previously only accepted cash payments.

Although the purpose of the automatic civil document issuance machines is the convenient issuance of civil documents at a nearby location instead of having to visit a government office, there was the inconvenience of having to may payments in cash only.

Therefore, starting in March, Gangdong-gu improved the automatic civil document issuance machines to accept payments by credit/check cards and mobile payments (Samsung Pay) in addition to cash payments.

There are a total of 13 automatic civil document issuance machines that accept cash, card, and mobile payments. They are located at Gangdong-gu Office, Gangdong-gu Community Health Center, Gangdong-gu Tax Office, Amsa Station, Godeok Station, Cheonho Station, Dunchon-dong Station, Gil-dong Station, Gubeundari Station, Sangil-dong Station, Kyung Hee Univ. Hospital at Gangdong, VHS Medical Center, and Kangdong Sacred Heart Hospital.

There is a total of six cash-only automatic civil document issuance machines. The payment options of automatic civil document issuance machines at the Community Service Centers of Gangil-dong, Cheonho 3-dong, Amsa 1-dong, Sangil-dong, and Gil-dong is scheduled to be changed soon, however, the issuance machines for real estate documents, corporate registration documents, and corporate seal documents on the first floor of the Gangdong-gu Office will remain cash only as the operation system differs from other automatic civil document issuance machines.

A district official commented, “The satisfaction level of users has increased thanks to the credit care and mobile payment options of the automatic civil document issuance machines. We will do our best to diversify payment options to improve mobile payment services and offer customer-oriented administrative services.”
