Gangdong-gu Haegong Senior Welfare Center Receives 'Excellence' in Social Service Quality Evaluation$-Selected an excellent institution with a high score in the Senior Care General Service category-- Presented customized programs for the elderly for spirited and worthwhile remaining years |

The Haegong Senior Welfare Center of Gangdong-gu (Mayor Lee Jung-hun) was selected as an excellent institution of the 'A Grade' in the '2019 Social Service Quality Evaluation' conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. his evaluation was conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare at 546 institutions, covering all areas of care services for the elderly such as ▲institution operations, ▲personnel management, ▲service provision and evaluation, ▲service results, and ▲on-site evaluation group. The Gangdong-gu Haegong Senior Welfare Center (Director Lee Sang-yeop) received a total score of 93.6 in the 'Senior Care General Service' category and selected an excellent institution to win the Ministry of Health and Welfare Minister Prize. Through the Senior Care General Service, senior care practitioners visit seniors at their homes to offer customized services, which include checking the health and welfare of seniors, accompanying seniors on outings, and offering housework help services. A survey conducted by users of the Haegong Senior Welfare Center's care services showed that more than 96% of the senior users found the services to be satisfactory, and 98.2% found services by senior care practitioners satisfactory. Director Lee Sang-yeop of the Haegong Senior Welfare Center commented, "We put seniors first in terms of services, and we're proud that our efforts in providing the most suitable services to them produced such a positive outcome." Mayor Lee Jung-hun stated, "We will support the Gangdong-gu Haegong Seniors Welfare Center so that a wider variety and higher-quality services can be offered to seniors in addition to the existing services." The Gangdong-gu Haegong Seniors Welfare Center that opened in July 2011 offers lifelong educational programs for seniors, such as Chinese character classes, health exercises, Korean calligraphy, and folk classes. The Center also features the 'daycare center' facility, a complex cultural space, for seniors who have difficulty with mobility. <Related Photos>
