Haenaem Center for Young People Helps Local Entrepreneurs Take Their First Steps$-One-Stop service support for business startups including counseling, mentoring, professional training, and networking -A business start-up mecca for developing young entrepreneurs

Gangdong-gu (Mayor, Lee Jung-hun) is actively pushing for the implementation of this year's support project at the Haenaem Center for Young People, a base for supporting startups, in order to meet the demands of local preliminary entrepreneurs .

The Haenaem Center for Young People (Seoul Creative Cafe Cheonho Branch) is a space for locals and preliminary entrepreneurs, who dream of establishing their own businesses, prepare for the startup process. The center provides a one-stop service for startups that includes various support, counseling, mentorship, professional training, and networking programs.

The programs offered at the center are highly recommendable to preliminary entrepreneurs and they include a Mock Business Startup School, Startup Visits, a Startup Idea Competition, and a Co-working Space Resident Selection Program.

The Mock Business Startup School, which was popular with the large number of participants last year, offers a practical, hands-on training that allows trainees to experience the whole process of establishing a business, from the selection of business items to the actual opening of a virtual company. The “school” consists of four lectures and is held four times a year (in March, June, September, and December).

The Startup Visits is a program for the preliminary entrepreneurs, who have already selected business items, to visit startups that are in similar business categories with which they are concerned. These visits are expected to help them design a road map for establishing and growing their own businesses. This year's program will be offered for only female preliminary entrepreneurs, for the first time, and will begin in March 27.

The Startup Idea Competition, which will be held in May, will provide prize money of up to KRW 2 million to the team with the most excellent startup idea, in order to promote the entrepreneurial spirit among participants.

Meanwhile, the Haenaem Center for Young People is preparing for the “Selection of Co-working Space Residents,” with the goal of completing the selection process by April. Preliminary entrepreneurs or young owners of startups established less than a year ago can apply for the use of co-working office in the center. Up to six teams will be selected for the program that will allow for the use of the office until December.

The center also runs other various programs, including the “Year-Round Consulting,” which provides counseling on difficulties related to startups and business operation, the “Startup Funding Clinic,” which offers consulting in the area of finding strategic ways to procure funding and the use government support programs, the “Young Entrepreneur Networking Day,” which helps these young entrepreneurs build their networks, and the “Haenaem Demo Day,” which provides opportunities to attract investment.

The owners of new or existing businesses, as well as preliminary entrepreneurs, may apply for these programs after checking the schedules of operation, which are posted on the official blog of the Haenaem Center for Young People.

Lee Jung-hun, the Mayor of Gangdong-gu said, "The Haenaem Center for Young People, which opened last September, is an open space open where anyone can easily prepare for the establishment of startups. The Center is offering various practical programs this year. Gangdong-gu will actively support local preliminary entrepreneurs who wish to systematically prepare for the establishment of their businesses while inspiring the entrepreneurial spirit within them."

The Haenaem Center for Young People is located on the second floor of 1057, Cheonho-daero, Gangdong-gu and is easily accessible from both Cheonho Station and Gangdong Station.
