Gangdong-gu, headed by Mayor Lee Jung-hun, will conduct the 2018 Local Health Examinations for 916 residents over the age of 19 from September 16 to October 31.

The examination will be based on the Regional Public Health Act with the goal to produce health statistics of the region and has been conducted annually at a national level since 2008.

This year, the examiners who received training through a series of training courses at the Inje University Graduate School of Public Health will visit households and perform one-on-one consultations under the consent of each household.

Examinations will include 238 questions in 18 areas to check the state of health, disease, daily habits, and use of health care. Corresponding answers will be used as crucial data in grasping the level of resident health, followed by the execution of local public health projects in accordance with local conditions.

 An official commented, “This examination will be a crucial indicator and serve as data to establish policies for the improved health of residents. The collected data will be confidential, as stipulated in the Statistics Act, and will be destroyed once examinations are completed. We ask for the active response and cooperation with examiners upon visitation.”
