Subject Gangdong-gu supports parents' self-help groups for childcare through joint childcare

Gangdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Jung hun) announced on the 8th that it will launch a "joint parenting support project" with the Seoul Metropolitan Government to encourage parents' self-help gatherings to raise their children together by sharing childcare concerns.

The "Joint Child Care Support Project" is the first project to be implemented this year, and supports a meeting of parents with infants under the age of 6 living in Seoul, who voluntarily gathered to raise and resolve the difficulty and burden of raising children.

The district received applications from a total of 35 self-help groups from the 2nd to the 20th of last month, and selected 14 teams (13 teams other than "small gatherings") consisting of more than 5 families.

The selected teams will have online and offline meetings at least once a month, and ▲ 400,000 won per year for joint childcare-related activities (for snacks, books, materials, instructors, etc.) ▲ Link to our neighborhood childcare class leader business ▲ Provide childcare-related information ▲ Children and Mom Gangdong Open Playground.

In addition, education related to infant development and parent self-help groups can be received in connection with the Seoul Child Care Support Center, and counseling through childcare experts is also provided to enhance the solidarity of self-help groups and solve infant problem behaviors.

Mayor Lee Jung hun, head of Gangdong-gu District Office, said, "We can solve the difficulties of parenting just by raising children together and sharing sympathy and support. We will continue to actively support parent self-help activities to reduce the burden of parenting and create a healthy parenting environment in the region."
