Subject The secret to Gangdong-gu's birth rate, which ranked second in Seoul.

Gangdong-gu (District Mayor Lee Jung hun) has established a comprehensive promotion plan to cope with the low birth rate in 2022.

Until now, Gangdong-gu has implemented various maternity promotion policies to solve the low birth rate problem, and as a result, the number of births in Gangdong-gu increased, recording a total fertility rate of 0.748 in 2020. This is the second highest among autonomous districts in Seoul.

In 2016, Gangdong-gu's total fertility rate was ranked 14th among autonomous districts, but it seems that the district's active childbirth-friendly policy played a major role in rising to 2nd place in 4 years.

While strengthening childbirth support services such as integrated health care and child-mom taxi services for pregnant women, child-rearing allowances and child-rearing allowances have been expanded to reduce the economic burden and care infrastructure for each age, including child-mom Gangdong, our neighborhood-kium center, and Dream Smile. Comprehensive measures encompassing all ages greatly affected the increase in fertility rates by easing the burden of childbirth and rearing for Gangdong-gu residents.

In order to continue to increase childbirth this year, the district plans to invest 84.2 billion won in a total of 59 projects, including adaptation to changes in the population structure of ▲ a society that works and cares for ▲ under the 4th Basic Plan for Low Fertility and Aged Society.

Gangdong-gu mayor Lee Jung hun said, "We expect that Gangdong-gu's various childbirth-friendly policies will greatly ease the burden of raising children. We will continue to make Gangdong a happy city for all generations by expanding childbirth promotion policies and parenting support."
