Expanding customized policy support centered on consumers reflecting the preferences and needs of multicultural families. Gangdong-gu, Seoul, has established a 2022 support plan for multicultural families. According to the Ministry of Public Administration and Security's 2020 status of foreign residents of local governments, about 2,300 multicultural families reside in Gangdong-gu, which is the 17th among autonomous districts in Seoul. Since 2010, Gangdong-gu has been promoting various support projects so that multicultural families can stably settle in our community. This year, in particular, the preferences and demands of multicultural families were actively reflected when planning to support more practical multicultural families. First, unlike previous years, it expanded its customized business centered on consumers. Programs that take into account the satisfaction and demand of multicultural families will be actively organized to promote Hangeul education for multicultural family children △ Expand career counseling for multicultural family school-age children △ Cooking Cook Culture Talk △ New mentor-ment program for marriage immigrants to settle in the community. In addition, Gangdong-gu Family Center is also striving to develop a multicultural family program that allows the whole family to participate together. Last year's so-called "Aja (Dad-Child)!" Project' was a magic experience program with father and received great response from children. The district not only promotes communication opportunities to promote relationships with Korean spouses. It plans to actively support the Korean spouse group community to help marriage immigrants understand and communicate with the culture. This multicultural family support plan is expected to contribute to establishing healthy family relations and expanding family communication and empathy by inducing Korean spouses to participate in various support projects under the direction of establishing local communities and economic independence for marriage immigrants. Lee Jung-hun, head of Gangdong-gu District Office, said, "Multicultural family members are also precious members of our society," adding, "We will do our best to find support policies that will help us in the future by properly examining the policy demands of multicultural families."
