Gangdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Jung-hun) operates a care SOS service that supports a variety of services that are routinely needed, from care to laundry services. The Care SOS Center project, which the district started in August 2020 to resolve the blind spot of care, provided a total of 4,300 services last year alone as its popularity increased through word of mouth from residents who have used it at least once. The care service provided by the Care SOS Center consists of customized care-related services such as ▲ temporary home▲ short-term facility ▲ companion support ▲ residential convenience ▲ meal support, ▲ safety check ▲ health support ▲ care system ▲ case management ▲ emergency support. The most popular laundry service among residential convenience items is a one-stop service that includes laundry, drying, collection, and delivery for large laundry such as bedding and curtains that are difficult to wash at home, and demand has soared day by day since September last year. Applications can be made by phone or visit the Care SOS Center installed at each Dong Community Center and can be used by the elderly, the disabled, and middle-aged people aged 50 or older in need of care due to sudden diseases or accidents. Those eligible for basic living recipients, the next highest, and a median income of 85% or less will be provided free of charge, and the annual usage limit per individual is 1.6 million won. Even residents who are not eligible for free support can use it if they take pride in it. With the rapid aging and increasing demand for care, Gangdong-gu Care SOS Center is playing a pivotal role, said Lee Jung-hun, head of the district office.
