Subject Gangdong, 2021 Chihu will hold an outdoor sculpture exhibition.

Gangdong-gu announced that the 2021 Chihu Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition will be held at the grass square in Gangdong-gu Office's open yard and Iljasan Neighborhood Park where residents who are tired of the prolonged COVID-19 can enjoy artworks and heal in their daily lives.

The outdoor sculpture exhibition, which marks its second anniversary this year, was prepared with the aim of creating a high-quality cultural city by exhibiting sculptures in the open courtyard of Gangdong-gu Office and nature-friendly Iljasan Grass Square.

The exhibition will be held under the theme of the 2021 Chihu Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition, with 12 works by 16 Korean sculptors displaying them in the open garden and 7 pieces in the grass square of Iljasan Mountain.

Gangdong Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition: Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition of Chihu will be held at Iljasan Neighborhood Park in Dunchon-dong, Gangdong-gu, Seoul, and the courtyard in front of the district office. With the aim of allowing Gangdong-gu residents to appreciate sculptural artworks naturally in their daily lives, the scope will be expanded to symposiums and art schools based on sculptures.

Last year, 26 works by domestic and foreign sculptors were presented under the theme of The Power of Sculpture, Communication and Healing in the Untact Era. There were also seats such as the sculpture commentator's explanation of the work and the behind-the-scenes story of the production during the meeting with the artist.

A service announcement was posted at the 2021 Sculpture Exhibition to display sculptures, promote residents, display records, and produce records. The contents of the task are as follows.
1. Planning and organization of the exhibition.
2. Composition of exhibition space and equipment production and installation.
3. Producing an exhibition story and writing and supervising a manu.
4. Producing and installing an exhibition guide image (panel, explanation card, graphic image, etc.)
5. Production of exhibition videos and related sculptures.
6. Production and installation of exhibition prints and promotional materials.
7. Prepare quarantine measures for each stage of COVID-19.
8. Arrangement and management of exhibition space operation and management personnel.
9. Transportation (including packaging) and installation of exhibits.
10. Insurance subion and safety management.
11. Demolition of exhibition facilities and production of exhibition result data after the project is completed.

The theme of the event will be selected as a theme that conveys rest, healing, and hope in the COVID-19 era.
Sculptures are based on stone and stainless steel, but various materials such as bronze, resin, granite, aluminum, bronze, and rubber are installed, and more than 10% of the total number of works by artists from Gangdong-gu or living there is allocated.

The Open Garden consists of works containing human initiative and will be displayed until January 22, 2022 to pray for a hopeful future after COVID-19, and you can enjoy works on nature, animals, and relaxation until January 5, 2022.
