Subject Korea-Japan Adolescence Ontact Exchange, "Closer Mind"

Gangdong-gu (District Mayor Lee Jung-hun) is planning to recruit teenagers to participate in ontact exchanges with teenagers in Musashino, Japan, until December 26.

Gangdong-gu signed a friendship agreement with Musashino which is located at Tokyo, Japan in 1997 and has been cross-visiting each other's countries since 2005 in order to build international friendships. However this time, due to COVID-19, it is looking forward to maintain a continuous friendly cooperation between the two cities by conducting youth exchanges online instead of face-to-face meetings.

The exchange event will be held for seven days from January 17 to 23, 2022 under the theme of Closer Mind, and teenagers from both cities will conduct various exchange activities such as online conferencing, small group activities, and cultural introduction online at home.

Through this, the district expects to form a global mind and develop international communication skills through various experiences of local adolescences.

The recruitment of participants is from December 13 to 26, and the number of applicants is 12. Any teenager interested in Gangdong-gu can apply if they live in Gangdong-gu or are in the 2nd or 3rd grade of middle school or 1st or 2nd grade of high school located in Gangdong-gu.

“I hope this ontact exchange will be an opportunity for teenagers in both cities to communicate and sympathize with each other beyond time and space constraints,” said Lee Jung-hun, head of Gangdong-gu District Office.
