Subject Gangdong-gu, construction of all four sections of Subway Line 9...Goals to complete the construction in 2028.

Gangdong-gu, Seoul, announced on the 20th that the construction contract for Section 1 (1.348 km, tentatively named Gilsaeng Tae Park Station) and Section 3 (1.485 km, tentatively named Godeokgangil Station) of the fourth stage extension project of Urban Railroad Line 9 has been signed and will begin on the 30th.

The fourth-phase extension project of Urban Railroad Line 9 is a project to establish four stations in a 4.12km section to Godeokgangil District 1 via Gilsaengtae Park, Hanyeong High School, and Godeok Station on Line 5 starting with Jungang Veterans Hospital Station in Gangdong-gu. The project is being divided into three tools. Following the second section of Daemyung Elementary School Intersection to Godeok I-Park Apartment (1.289km, tentatively named Hanyeonggo Station, Godeok Station), which began construction on August 31, all four sections will begin construction.

The fourth stage of Subway Line 9 aims to be completed by 2028. The transportation convenience in Gangdong-gu with a population of 500,000 is expected to improve dramatically.

On the other hand, Godeokgangil District 1, which is the section after stage 4 of Line 9.The project is also smoothly progressing in the section of Gangil-dong (1.25km, 4th stage additional extension of Line 9).

In December last year, it was included in the measures to improve wide-area traffic in Wangsuk District, Namyangju, and in July this year, Gangdong, Hanam, and Namyangju Lines (18.1km) were announced as new projects in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's "4th National Railroad Network Construction Plan."

At the end of September, it passed a preliminary feasibility study by public institutions, and the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) and Gyeonggi-do are currently establishing basic plans.

Gangdong-gu mayor Lee Jung-hun said, "The construction of all four sections of Line 9 will connect the transportation network of Godeok Biz Valley, a high-tech business complex, and an engineering complex, so that Gangdong-gu can stand as an economic center in the eastern metropolitan area."
