Subject Korea-Japan youth ontact exchange, "Heart closer"

Gangdong-gu (mayor Lee Jung hun) will recruit teenagers to participate in ontact exchanges with youth in Musashino, Japan, until December 26.

Gangdong-gu signed a friendship agreement with Musashino, Tokyo, Japan in 1997 and has been cross-visiting each other's countries since 2005 to build international friendships. This time, due to COVID-19, it aims to maintain a continuous friendly cooperation between the two cities by conducting youth exchanges online instead of face-to-face meetings.

The exchange event will be held for seven days from January 17 to 23, 2022 under the theme of Closer Mind, and teenagers from both cities will conduct various exchange activities such as video conferencing, small group activities, and cultural introduction online at home. Through this, the district expects to form a global mind and develop international communication skills through various experiences of local youth.

The recruitment of participants is from December 13 to 26, and the number of applicants is 12. Any youth interested in Gangdong-gu can apply if they live in Gangdong-gu or are in the 2nd or 3rd grade of middle school or 1st or 2nd grade of high school located in Gangdong-gu. It is said that the final list will be finalized and announced on December 30, the list will be released on the Gangdong-gu website, and individual contacts will also be delivered to the selected students.

"I hope this ontact exchange will be an opportunity for teenagers in both cities to communicate and sympathize with each other beyond time and space constraints", said Lee Jung hun, mayor of Gangdong-gu District Office.
