Subject | Gandong-gu, create ‘Cheonho Bicycle Theme Street’ from Cheonho-dong to Han River | ||
On the 17th of December 2021, Gangdong-gu announced that the ‘Cheonho Bicycle Street’ located between the Cheonho Park Intersection and the Jeumun Interchange leading to the Han River Park has been newly renovated with the new name, ‘Chunho Bicycle Theme Street’. The old name, ‘Cheonho Bicycle Street’ was given as an honorary road name in 2016. Since the road is an appropriate route to ride bicycle to the Han River Park, many stores that are related with a bicycle have been opened on the street and formed a commercial district for several years. Currently, it has established itself as a specialized commercial district related with a bicycle and people from all over the country visit here. The district explained that a unique landscape has been created with the theme of a bicycle to strengthen and revitalize the brand of ‘Cheonho Bicycle Theme Street’. At the entrance of ‘Cheonho Bicycle Theme Street’ and at the entrance of the Han River Park, a symbolic sign and an information board for the bicycle street and a photo zone are installed. Several bicycle racks are also installed in front of the stores on the street for visitors’ convenience. Gangdong-gu mayor Lee Jung hun said, “In addition to ‘Cheonho Bike Theme Street’, Gangdong-gu is discussing various projects, such as planning the light streets in major alleyways to support small business owners who are struggling with covid 19. We hope the ‘Cheonho Bicycle Theme Street’ to be established as a brand that leads the revitalization of local commercial areas.” |
