Subject Gangdong-gu promotes the establishment of a spatial environment strategy plan with the participation of residents.

On November 16th, Gangdong-gu (mayor Lee Jung hun) held a report meeting to establish a spatial environment strategy plan with the participation of residents.

The spatial environment strategy plan is a project that the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport has been supporting since 2015 to improve the design level of public spaces and public architecture and to prepare an integrated plan for these design levels. The service was carried out with a support of 13 million won.

In Gangdong-gu, the regional imbalance is accelerating due to the creation of large-scale apartment complexes such as the Godeok Gangil Public Housing District.

Accordingly, in this service, the district plans to secure functional and physical connectivity and provide an integrated space creation direction for various redevelopment projects underway in the original downtown area of Gangdong-gu, such as the Seongnae and Cheonho Reorganization Promotion District, C3 Special Plan Area, and Seongnae 2-dong Urban Regeneration Project.

In addition, the Gangdong Landscape Nuridan, composed of 37 Gangdong-gu residents, will be participating in the spatial environment strategy plan to be established this time to discover substantial landscape projects and establish a plan that reflects the opinions of residents.

‘Gangdong Landscape Nuridan’ plans to participate in planning activities such as discovering local landscape problems through monthly road-checking and discussing ways to improve them.
Mayor of Gangdong-gu, Lee Jung hun said, “Through the activities of the Gangdong Landscape Nuridan, we plan to actively reflect the opinions of residents in the spatial environment strategic plan. We will soon be planned and established” he said.
