Subject Gangdong-gu 'Crisis Furniture Report Reward System' Selection of Cases for Resolving Regulatory Difficulties of the Ministry of Public Administration and Security

The "Crisis Furniture Report Reward" system in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, has been selected as a new case to address regulatory difficulties through active administration in the second quarter of 2021.

According to the district on the 29th, the "Crisis Furniture Report Reward" system provides rewards to reporters if they report households that are in need of livelihood or need help due to health problems such as illness and disability due to unemployment or closure.

A related ordinance was enacted in April and has been in effect for the first time in the country since May. If a person who is reported as a crisis household is selected as a basic livelihood recipient, 30,000 won (up to 300,000 won per person per year) in Gangdong-gu local currency will be paid to the residents who reported it.

The district opened Kakao Talk channels so that anyone could easily report crisis households, actively promote them, and two households in crisis were selected as basic livelihood recipients after the implementation of the system.

Lee Jung-hun, head of Gangdong-gu District Office, said, "The 'Crisis Furniture Report Reward' system, which was selected as an example of resolving regulatory difficulties, is the result of active administration to build a community safety net."

In addition, the Gangdong-gu Office is trying to overcome Corona by providing disaster support to village bus drivers and delivering encouraging goods to selective clinics. It is also working hard to make Gangdong-gu a better area through an ice pack recycling campaign and a guide for emotional workers.
