Subject Gangdong-gu District Publication of Guidelines on the Protection of Emotional Workers' Rights

Gangdong-gu announced on the 24th that it has published "Gangdong-gu Emotional Workers' Rights Protection Guidelines" to create a healthy and safe working environment for emotional workers.
The Gangdong-gu Emotional Workers' Rights Protection Guideline contains details on protecting emotional workers' rights, including user obligations to protect emotional workers from verbal abuse and assault, a customer handling manual, a worker protection system, and a damage recovery environment.

This booklet will be distributed to the Gu office, Dong community centers, and 105 affiliated organizations, and it may be downloaded from the Gu office website if necessary from the businesses within the jurisdiction.
Since enacting the Gangdong-gu Ordinance on the Protection of Emotional Workers' Rights in 2019, Gangdong-gu has formed and operated an Emotional Workers' Rights Security Committee composed of experts in the labor and counseling fields. It is also taking the lead in protecting emotional workers' rights by campaigning for protecting emotional workers' rights, conducting a survey on emotional workers in the public sector, and distributing guidelines for protecting emotional workers' rights.
This year, by establishing a "Gangdong-gu Emotional Workers Protection and Healthy Labor Culture Plan," we are working to create a healthy city where emotional workers are respected by promoting projects such as improving the working environment of childcare teachers and social welfare facilities, legal and campaigns to recover damage.


Mayor Lee Jung hun said, "We will spare no support to help emotional workers who control their emotions and serve customers to be protected from emotional labor damage and work in a better environment."
