The continuing professional dementia management inspite of COVID-19

COVID-19 action case for the vulnerable health groups of Gangdong-gu,
chair city of AFHC (the Alliance for Healthy Cities) management committee,
was published on the WHO website.
The article ‘Dementia care at home : telemedicine assessments for dementia patients of Gangdong-gu, Republic of Korea’
explained the first ‘service of dementia untact care’ out of all autonomous districts in Seoul on May last year
combined with the untact care and the visiting nursing service.
Especially, The telemedicine contributed to the early treatment and management with the long-term closure of medical center of dementia
was a leading case winned official commendation from Korean Ministry of Health & Welfare.

Gangdong-gu Center of dementia carries out a variety of tasks with
earaly treatment, registration and management, education and promotion, and construction of dementia safety system.
For the purpose of detecting dementia early, they inspects a patient free once a year, and provides a customized service for a thorough medical checkup.
Since its launch, the telemedicine service has greatly eased the situation of older people awaiting dementia assessments. In 2020, 227 people received a remote dementia examination and 1100 people benefitted from the visiting nurse services.
Now, the Center offers an incentive of the first join the program to a senior with the mild case of demensia who has been vaccinated.
