Subject | Local food from Wanju-gun to Gangdong-gu (expanded to Songpa-gu) | ||
Local food in Wanju-gun, Jeollabuk-do will be expanded to Songpa-gu after Gangdong-gu, Seoul. Wanju-gun announced on the 20th that it has signed business agreements with Gangdong-gu, Songpa-gu and Andong-si to "cross-supply of public meals for rural and common people." Wanju-gun has been supplying food ingredients to 200 public institutions, including daycare centers and welfare facilities in Gangdong-gu since 2017. Andong-si has signed a business agreement with Songpa-gu since 2019 to supply food ingredients. The cross-supply agreement is aimed at diversifying food ingredients items, and local food in Wanju-gun is also provided to Songpa-gu, while Andong-si supplies necessary food ingredients to Gangdong-gu. Public meals for urban and rural co-prosperity are conducted by directly trading local agricultural products through a one-on-one match between the local government and the local agricultural community in the Seoul Metropolitan Government. It started with the intention that producers can secure stable markets to supply local agricultural products, and consumers can receive excellent food ingredients delivered from seasonal mountains. However, there was a disadvantage that it was difficult to provide various eco-friendly ingredients due to matching principles. In response, Gangdong-gu, which is matching Wanju-gun, and Songpa-gu, which is matching Andong-si, decided to supplement each food ingredient through a business agreement. Wanju-gun and Gangdong-gu are the most active urban and rural areas in the country, and they supply 1.8 billion won of finished food ingredients annually, including supplying local food to Gangdong-gu direct stores as well as public meals. "The cross-supply agreement has enabled stable expansion of the market," said Park Sung-il, governor of Wanju County. "We will do our best to diversify supply items and supply safe food through planned production." |
