Subject Gangdong-gu Younth, go camping with native speakers!

Gangdong-gu hosts foreigner camping trip to middle school student in Gangdong-gu for four days in Gangdong Greenway Campground. Teenagers can develop self-learning ability and learn communication, cooperation bewteen peers, participating in various programs such as exploration activities, cooking classrooms,etc. At 17th, A student who paricipated in foreigner camping trip said, " I had fear about english speaking but after playing games and talking with foreigner mentors or friends, I become confident."

This program proceeds for students at four middle schools from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is expected to be chance to build up confidence of foreign language and global mind.

In order to provide a new foreign language education environment and grow global outstanding individuals, Gangdong-go will proceeds various foreigner programs not only this camping but also Gangdong global foreigner festival supported by creative personality camp.

It supports the portion of the Pungnap-dong 'creative personality camp' operatied by Seoul Metropolitan Government for kindergardens and elementary school in Gangdong-gu. About 3000 students including 20 kindergardens and 9 elementary schools which want to join in are recruited.

It plans to host the 'Gangdong Global Foreign Language', which will be held in November of this year. It is expected to be the useful chance to learn the culture of various countries and experience a foreign language.

Lee Hae-sik, the head of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, said, " It will be the good chance for our children to develop their own language and develop confidence in foreign languages, " adding, " We will strive to grow into a creative global talent that understands diversity in the multicultural era."
